Traffic Control

Traffic control crews that turn up ready

CATO Group supplies licensed traffic controllers for construction sites, lane and road closures, events and film sets across Sydney, NSW and South East Queensland. Crews are accredited, experienced on every major Sydney CBD road, tunnel and bridge, and available on short notice — including within 48 hours by phone. Part of our end-to-end traffic management services.

The wrong traffic crew makes YOUR site look bad

A controller who's late, unlicensed, or glued to their phone doesn't just slow the job — it's your name on the site fence when council drives past. The safety of your staff and the public is the one thing you can't outsource cheaply.

Our controllers have over a decade of collective experience on Sydney's hardest roads, and they're trained to solve problems, not radio them in.

Included

What's included with every CATO traffic control crew

  • Fully licensed and accredited controllers (NSW Blue Card & QLD TMR)

  • $20m public liability + full workers comp cover on every crew

Services

Traffic control services we cover

From a single stop/slow controller on a suburban street to full road closures on the Harbour Bridge, our teams cover the complete range of NSW and QLD traffic control work — day, night, and emergency call-outs. Larger jobs pair a crew with a traffic guidance scheme and permit package.

Lane, road & footpath closures

Short-term and long-term lane, full-road and footpath closures on arterials, residential streets and shared zones — set up, monitored and packed down to your TGS.

Night works & after-hours shifts

Overnight road occupancies, utility works and infrastructure shutdowns with rested crews, high-vis lighting and VMS staged well upstream.

Stop/slow bat & manual intersection control

Certified controllers on the bat for single-lane alternating flow, plus manual control at signalised intersections when lights are down or works demand it.

Event & festival traffic control

Marathons, street festivals, concerts, NYE and public gatherings — rolling road closures, pedestrian marshalling and coordination with police and event control.

Film & TV unit base and stunt control

Unit bases, basecamp movements, picture-car convoys and stunt road closures across Sydney, the Blue Mountains and SEQ — including sensitive CBD and heritage locations.

Emergency & 48-hour call-outs

Same-day response for breakdowns, incident sites, weather events and permit variations, with escalation direct to a duty supervisor.

Pilot & escort vehicles

Escort and pilot-vehicle operations for over-dimensional loads, oversize deliveries and heavy haulage, including route pre-drives where required.

Equipment supply with crew

Water-filled and steel barriers, VMS, arrow boards, TMAs, portable traffic lights and signage supplied alongside crew — one invoice, one point of contact.
